Mom and dad are growing older
So time spent with them is such a treasure
Happy were they for some unexpected gifts
That’s the way life goes, that’s the way it shifts

I went to mass with my mom and dad today. We had lunch after and I took them both on an impromptu shopping. My dad needed new pants but he’d never say or ask for one. He tried to pick one that didn’t cost much. Mom told him not to look at the price but I know he’s thinking of making sure I got the budget for it. Mom is the same. So she was happy when I let her pick a dress and she found one on sale.
I’m just happy to be able to do these things with my parents. I treasure more the time we spend together than any material thing.
