Office With A View

“Good morning”, says the sun

Bright and early it appears.

Beyond the horizon, out at sea

Oh! The day looks clear.

Silence, as this side of the world wakes

Silence, the only thing I hear.

I start my day with a view like this.

PS. I took the above picture from my office’s roof deck.

Finally?

And are you happy now?

Have you found the missing part of you?

Are you contented, finally?

Finally?

Giving Up, Giving All

Here I am trying to sort this out

Here I am trying to survive

Trying to understand what am I about

And withstand the dive

I often, if not always, get knocked down

I whimper and frown

But as life is like this,

I just get back up again

Routinely Grind

Alarm goes off and you blink your eyes only to shut it again

Sometimes, it’s too much of a grind from the routine

Difficult

I try

I tried

I keep trying

But it’s just too difficult this time

Demand

Work hard as if there’s no tomorrow

But your life is sad, full of sorrow

You try and meet the demands

Take their every command

You feel like being in prison

You ask yourself why you do it, what’s the reason

So you stop and pause

And ask, what is your cause?

You then decided to break from their chains

Their demand isn’t worth your pains

Daily Grind

Try to fall asleep

Alarm on

Doze off

Alarm sounds

Wake up

Alarm off

Breakfast? Maybe

Coffee? Yes!

Bath and dress and prepare for work or school

Spend your time doing whatever

Brunch or lunch

Then crunch time again

Come home

Tired, need to relax

Dinner time

Bed, blankets, and pillow

All over again

Series of waiting

Wait in line

Wait for your turn

Wait for the call to go through

Or for someone to call you

Life is a series of waiting, I guess

Don’t Understand

They couldn’t and don’t understand her

Often wondering why she prefers to be alone

Why she wouldn’t want to be in relationships

Why she’d rather grow old by herself.

She couldn’t let them understand

That her happiness was not tied to relationships

That she was happiest being alone

It’s Been A While

It has been a while since I’ve looked at the moon

Been a while since I went on vacation

Been a while couldn’t come too soon

You might even come to get a taste of this poetry again. Don't be afraid to let your kids read this blog. My poetry is for and to help the youth. Bring them along with you. You both are scrolling down your phone or on the computer anyway. Let's have fun and get a taste of some poetry. I promise this type of poetry tastes delicious.
