For the visually challenged reader, this image shows a person holding a piece of broken mirror in which their face is partially reflected.
This is written in response to Sadje’s What Do You See #134
Vanity has given me a comfortable life
Images of my beauty could be seen almost everywhere
I was a familiar face
I was well known
However, no one saw my strife
I struggled alone, no one was aware
I was then replaced
And now, I'm well worn
This broken mirror in my hand
Reflects my broken life
A life that used to be so grand
Now holding on from the edge of a knife
A face that was once pretty
Now aged with time
This is the curse of my beauty
The end of my prime

It beckoned for me to look up
And as I did, I saw a golden light
I could swear it smiled back at me as I smiled at it

Did you see the full moon last night? I saw ot earlier today. It was magnificent.
Traveling the road on an early morning
I looked up the sky and saw
I was right in the middle of morning and night
To my right, the sun was slowly rising from the sea
To my left, the moon was going down slowly behind the mountains
What a beautiful sight it was
I felt that I witnessed something special

Many years ago, when I was about 13 or 14 years old, I was on the back of my dad’s motorcycle early morning when I happened to look up at the sky. Smartphones weren’t a thing then so I never got to capture the beauty I saw but it was forever kept in my head.
The clock struck at the 13th hour
Yes, it was time
The witches brew was now ready
All according to plan
'Tis the day
She'll have full power
The 13th on a Friday
She'll escape this tower

Too early for Halloween, I know. But since it’s Friday the 13th, I thought I’ll give it a go.
For the visually challenged reader, this image shows a crooked tree with bare branches. In the background stars in the sky can be seen forming streaks in a circular fashion.
I, a tree
Witness to the beauty
Witness to the destruction
The humans, they were part of the beauty once
But then they waged wars
Egos escalating
Pride blinding them
I was once part of the beauty
Now destroyed by the wars
and selfishness of the humans
But now, all is quiet
The stars are now back
The sky now clear
The humans have destroyed themselves
And I, a tree, remain still
Hoping to heal and once more be part of the beauty

He couldn’t win me with his words
for they were empty
I could tell he’d jump at every chance
because he was feeling lonely
But I can’t be held accountable
for someone elses happiness
I cannot fill whatever void he has
or fill his emptiness
He has to understand that the key to his happiness,
is himself

Clear as day
Clear, like the skies of May
Things have come into better focus
Now I’m less anxious

I got my new specs today. After I switched from my almost 6 year old one, I could see a huge difference. Everything is clearer and I can feel less strain in my eyes.
Onwards we went to exercise our right
Everyone hoping for a better tomorrow
Hoping for some good change
Hoping for unity and perhaps, even peace

We had our national elections today and I am beat from standing in line for so long. Even if the sun wasn’t beating down when I stood in line, the humidity was just killing me. I didn’t take my lunch so I could get off work a little early so yeah, I’m tired. I’ll be reading posts tomorrow.
