A Year From Now

I’ve been following Joseph Gordon-Levitt (500 Days of Summer, Rush) on Instagram as I’m a fan of his work. I also like his community-website HitRecord. So on his Instagram, he posted this “April-must-do list” that one of the HitRecord member created. The list suggests what you can do or post on the website for each day of April – kind of like The Daily Post here in WordPress. The list suggested for the 3rd of April this – ‘a year from now’. Coincidentally, I have been thinking about what would happen a year from now. So, I used this as a bit of inspiration for today’s post.

I sit here outside our terrace and I wonder what would happen a year from now.

Will we learn and remember all the valuable lessons this pandemic has taught us?

When we look back a year from now, will we be looking back with anguish or anger or fear?

Will we be more appreciative knowing the difficulties we all had to go through?

Will we be kinder to each other?

Will we be better people?

I look up at the sky that’s slowly turning orange from blue, and I wonder what would happen a year from now.

What Do You Miss?

I miss hugging the people that are close to me. Right now, we have to keep our distance.

Even a simple high five has to be avoided.

Once normalcy returns, would you please give me a hug?

Hello earthlings! How’s quarantine (For those placed on quarantine)? Here in Cebu, Philippines, we are now on Enhanced Community Quarantine. Good thing I still get to work from home so I don’t have to worry about going to and from work.

How are things where you are? What do you miss?

Stuck Together

Let’s get stuck together from afar

Let’s do our morning routine a bit differently

Let’s stay indoors and enjoy the moment

Let’s do our part to keep each other safe

Hello Earthlings

Hi everyone. I hope you’re all well, wherever you are on this Earth.

The outbreak of Covid-19 has caused many to panic. Here in the Philippines, panic buying is just picking up. It is not a pretty sight.

I do hope you all keepsafe. Take your vitamins everyday to boost your immunity, drink lots of water, and avoid hoarding to help others protect and care for themselves too.

There’s a lot of negativity already. May we be the ones who help bring some positive light in these trying times.

Xoxo,

Maria Michaela

While Waiting

The waiting was always fine for me

Always manageable

Always thinking it’s all just routine.

But it got me thinking,

“What if one of these days it wouldn’t be routine?

What if all this waiting will cease?”

I wondered this as I sat there

Waiting, like I often do

I often accompany my mom on her check ups. It’s all routine now as it’s been almost 13 years since she was diagnosed. It just got me thinking earlier though that there may come a time when the results would lead to bad news and I wondered what and how I’d react.
