I dragged my feet as I walked out the bedroom
Eyes, sleepy and sagging…still wanting more sleep
I managed to take a shower, getting ready to work from home
Still I was feeling sleepy
Oh woe is me!
Finally after an hour or two, I decided I badly need one
So, a cup of coffee I drank and my day finally began
It was the end of the week
It was the end of the work month
My spirit was high but I didn’t feel like working.
I was in a good mood
Listened to some good tunes
I wasn’t feeling down but I didn’t feel like working.
I hummed along to a good beat
Last song syndrome on my mind and on repeat
My menstruation was done but I just didn’t feel like working.
The hours crept by and then the end of the day
My heart sang with glee as I hopped my way out of the office
They want what they can’t have
They work hard for it
But what happens when they get it?
Will they remember how hard it was to get it in the first place?
Or will they throw it aside?
Wanting is different from needing
“Good morning”, says the sun
Bright and early it appears.
Beyond the horizon, out at sea
Oh! The day looks clear.
Silence, as this side of the world wakes
Silence, the only thing I hear.
I start my day with a view like this.
PS. I took the above picture from my office’s roof deck.
Work hard as if there’s no tomorrow
But your life is sad, full of sorrow
You try and meet the demands
Take their every command
You feel like being in prison
You ask yourself why you do it, what’s the reason
So you stop and pause
And ask, what is your cause?
You then decided to break from their chains
Their demand isn’t worth your pains
Alarm goes off and I say, here we go again
It can take a toll on you
Yet you push hard or harder
Knowing that the game
They thank their lucky stars
But I have none of that
I work hard and I pray
I do not wish worries away
I do what I can whenever the challenge comes up
Because no lucky star can ever get me through it, aside from myself
Row your boat as fast as you can
The tide is fighting back but you have to try
Try hard and work hard until your arms are sore
The only way to make it is to row your boat
Why do you hesitate
Work on what you are passionate about
Travel the galaxy
Sip a cup of coffee at the Milky Way
Make it yours!
Take the opportunity
Stumble, fall, it happens
But get back up and try
Your misery is caused by your own
Think if you must
But once you’ve decided
Do not hesitate
