Waiting, Waiting Game

I look at him

He looks at me

Looking for an opportunity

A moment, to set us both free

Time, Yes Time

Just a little more time

To take some more

We ask for more

Can’t afford any more

Time

Sunday Relax

It’s Sunday and things are slow

Sometimes you wish life was as well

So sit back and relax the day away

Timeline

I am not as great as they

All I can really say

I will be erased from history’s timeline

And no one will ever know what was mine

I am just a speck of dust carried by the wind

And I will  be erased without a trace

Too Slow, Too Fast

Monday ends then Tuesday starts

The week slowly creeping

One by one they come and go

Sometimes we wish they’d come a little slower

And sometimes we’d like them to end soon.
Saturday went by then Sunday again

We’d still wish there was more

Running Out

All the miles I ran

I thought at first I couldn’t

Buy ended up saying, “I can”.
I looked at the behemoth before me

Fear crept inside, swelling

But I ended up trying, you see.
I ran up the mountain, stumbled, fell then got up

Bruises on my elbows and knees

But I didn’t stop.
It felt time was running out or maybe it was rushing in

I took a step forward

And all over again I started to begin.

Year

There goes another year,

Like another time,

Another place,

Another lifetime.

We’ve been able to get this far,

And farther we will go still.

The year will soon be new

But same old me and same old you.

Older and hopefully wiser and better and happier.

No plan will work out like you’d want to but go at it anyway

Because before you know it,

Another year would have gone by again.

Running Late

Everyone is in a hurry, it seems

Daylight fading or running out of schemes.

They dress and doll up, attractive as can be

Gorgeous lips with wonderful locks for every man to see.

They try, they sell, they do cutie stuff and flirt around

All to be “taken”, taken where? Oh, just around.

They tell me I’m running behind, they all tell me to hurry up

No time to chit chat, no time to stop.
But I’m not running late

I’m not even running

There may be some disappointments, maybe some hate

But I’ll show them I can be stunning.

On my own.

That Time

There was a time when the world was still

and so was my heart.
I wonder where it went?

Little Time

So busy with many things

Not much joy it brings

I go to and from

Sticking to my daily grind like a gum

I want to do this, I’d like to do that

Do all the things I’d like and what

Sometimes I’d like to stop time

I don’t think that’s a crime

To wish for things to slow down

And enjoy the view of this town
