He waited
Or did he?
Tick tock goes the clock
I sat there
Phone on the table
I didn’t want to
Or maybe just couldn’t.
The phone and I sat there
While on the other side, he waited
He waited
Or did he?
Tick tock goes the clock
I sat there
Phone on the table
I didn’t want to
Or maybe just couldn’t.
The phone and I sat there
While on the other side, he waited
I’d love to have tea
Maybe some coffee
Sitting outside, watching the sea
Let’s sit here and let’s just be
You and me
He sat there and nobody noticed
Except I who was already there, no one looking at us
The silence was loud yet he nor I flinched
Time was creeping slowly, inch by inch
He could have left, avoiding the awkwardness
But he remained there, we both did and so did silence
No one came and I think we both preferred it that way
Feels good to do nothing, sometimes
Feels good to just sit and sip coffee
Watch the day go by
Hear the sounds of nature
Sometimes it just feels better
To be lazy
I sat and took my time
Letting everything around me just go by
I heard every chatter and all the rustling
The wind blowing and the leaves dancing
I took a moment, and the moment left me speechless
I see you’ve been busy lately
Care to stop and have a cup of coffee?
Let’s sit for a while and breathe easy
Let’s take time to make time
Let’s catch up, shall we?
It’s been a while
