I Rise With The Moon

A friend of mine posted a photo of the super pink moon and captioned it, “I rise with the moon”. I thought that it would be a great title for a poem. So here goes…

The sun dips in the horizon while the moon is slowly rising

And with it my soul awakens.

The darkness stretches, as do I…

The world would have been blanketed by darkness except the moon was shining bright.

I shine my own smile back to the moon and together, hand in hand, we light up the night sky.

Color of Morning

Hues of orange splash the sky

Splattered like magnificent painting greeting the early commuters off to work

I sigh a little as I saw only a glimpse of it

I wanted to pause the moment before the busy day and just bask in awe under it

The sun showing its glow but not quite the full show

I take a photo of it in my mind and I smile inwardly thinking how beautiful the day will be

Lonesome Prince

Your eyes used to shine bright

But where is the shine now?

And you used to smile with such delight

But it left you somehow.

I wonder why you lost your spark,

I hope you find it again.

I pray you get out of the dark

Come back, let’s begin.

Defeated

Down and lost

You feel like quitting.

I see your pain, though you hide it.

Yet even in moments when everyone lost hope on you

You persevere

Move on

And learn.

Every moment of sadness

You reach for that glimpse of glory.

You are the best when you are defeated

Because it is in those moments, you show that you can still shine.

Fireworks

The sky is full of bright lights

Spectacular sights!

Oh the stars, they watch tonight

They hide their twinkle for the night

They watch is awe to what the world has to offer

For tonight, the show is for them

They watch the fireworks work its magic

As they take a bteak from shining and become the spectators
