I stayed out late until it was pitch dark,
I sat on the grass, reclining on the tree bark.
The noise of the city
Fading in the distance slowly.
I bask under the glow and beauty of the sunset,
I take in the view while listening to the House Sparrow’s duet.
I stretch my arms and legs, grateful for this moment
Looking forward to more days like this on my retirement.
I feel at ease and calm
The sea, it helps me becalm.
Time is slower there and all worries are washed away
Sitting on the beach soaking the salty air makes it the best day!
My toes dig deep on the sand
This place couldn’t be more grand.
I take a dip and swim all the stress away
This is quite a nice getaway.
You will find me where the sun rises early
Where the waves whisper softly
Where the breeze is blowing
Where the sea is calling
Work hard as if there’s no tomorrow
But your life is sad, full of sorrow
You try and meet the demands
Take their every command
You feel like being in prison
You ask yourself why you do it, what’s the reason
So you stop and pause
And ask, what is your cause?
You then decided to break from their chains
Their demand isn’t worth your pains
It has been a while since I’ve looked at the moon
Been a while since I went on vacation
Been a while couldn’t come too soon
Unwind, relax, deep breath
Stretch and reflect, contemplate
The hour goes by slowly
And you wish for it to slow down just a bit more
So can enjoy more
I’d love to have tea
Maybe some coffee
Sitting outside, watching the sea
Let’s sit here and let’s just be
You and me
Slow, slow, slow
The days went by slowly
Long, long days
Sometimes just trying to get to the weekend
By and by
Inch by inch
It is there to behold
Oh I want to see the sea!
Hear the waves crashing
Feel the sand on my feet
Smell the warm sea breeze
Relax under the lovely sun in a place that’s almost like paradise
How do you get rid of something
Something you do not want to get rid of
Like the sunny summer skies
And the bug to swim away
