She swept you away like a tide
Swallowed you whole
You held your breath for her
Because for you,
She was worth it.
She was the most stunning rainbow you’ve ever seen
The loveliest rose in the garden.
But you broke her too
Replaced her with someone new
Kind of like how you replaced me…
I kissed the rain goodbye
I told the grey skies to go
I was done being sad and blue
The rainbow and sunshine have come
I wanted to see them
Life was getting dull and I was getting tired…all the time
I’d wish I was away to somewhere tranquil
Rather than stuck in this cubicle
If I saw colors, it would light me up
It would let me see the real beauty
To be more positive and be happier
I need them now, more than ever
Follow the stars towards the open field of rainbows
Walk towards where the sound of the river and the songs of the birds mingle
Smell the cherry blossoms amd the tulips as they greet your coming
At the end of it all
My love will be waiting for you
I loved the rainbows, I loved the rain
I loved the happiness, I loved the pain
The sun shines bright
And sometimes it gets darker than the night
But through it all I carry on
Foward, onward, moving on.
Wide eyed, I wondered and dreamed and schemed
I came up with rainbows and unicorns and leprechauns
I smiled and cried and explored
I did things made up of crayons and imaginations
I continued to explore and be wide eyed with the world
Whatever troubles you had yesterday.
I told the rainbow to stop your tears and hear your cries
By sharing its colors to remove your grey skies.
I told the sun to keep you warm and to brighten up
To make your shivering stop.
I hope you know I truly care,
But to show to you, this I don’t dare.
I don’t have the right to care so much for you
But I hope you know, when you’re down I’m blue.
And so I told Mother Nature to show her care
I think it’s only right, I think it’s only fair.
Is it red like the poinsettia?
Or white like snow?
Is it golden like the sandy beach?
I’m not sure how I’d know.
Is it blue as the sky?
Or pitch black like the night?
Could it be brown as your eyes,
Gazing at the sunlight?
Maybe it’s green as the grass,
Or yellow like sunrise.
Then again, it could be purple
Or pink like a great surprise!
Whatever it may be,
I know it’s very colorful
I forgot how to smile
You forgot how to rhyme
I felt our skins rot
Our flesh peeling off
It’s been a while, my friend
More than a decade or two
We have crossed many rainbows
But I guess there’s just one more
Red like the tulip or the inside of a watermelon
Blue as the sky and the deepest ocean
Orange as the sunset over the horizon
Green as the leaves or the grass in the garden
White like the clouds that differs in shape
Yellow like bananas or a lemon in your tea
Purple like the grapes that hung on their vines
The world is a rainbow full of colors,
full of life
Such a wonderful sight to behold
A sight that we need to preserve
