Ice Queen

She looks all sweet and kind

And though she may not read minds

She can tell the wrong sort

Even before they start to court.

They wonder why she’s single

Wonder why she wouldn’t mingle

They think of her as a mystery

And ask themselves if she’s in misery.

She’s calm unless provoked

She’s tough as nails when your feelings for her she’ll revoke

She won’t think twice to tell you otherwise

Boy, she will be your demise.

You can wait for as long as you want

Hoping you’ll change her mind, but you know you can’t

When she says “no”, that’s the final word

See, she battles dragons herself and doesn’t need you sword.

I Could

I could tell you everything

I could give my world

I could do anything

Like make ribbons of rainbows that twirled.
I could be riding a shooting star

Travel the galaxy

Yes! I could go far

Without making it a fallacy.
I could bend and break you

Make you bleed and beg for more

I could turn you black and blue

You won’t even get a score.
I could conjure butterflies out of thin air

I could smile sweetly

But you won’t get a share

No, you will regret me.
See I could be the love that you think I am

I could be your dream

But you don’t see that I’m a sham

See I’ve got some scheme.
I’d could be with someone but I prefer to be alone

Because I choose not to be a queen in some elses throne.

The Looking Glass

The Queen was in her chamber, and she was middling old.
Her petticoat was satin, and her stomacher was gold.
Backwards and forwards and sideways did she pass,
Making up her mind to face the cruel looking-glass.
The cruel looking-glass that will never show a lass
As comely or as kindly or as young as what she was!

The Queen was in her chamber, a-combing of her hair.
There came Queen Mary’s spirit and It stood behind her char,
Singing “Backwards and forwards and sideways may you pass,
But I will stand behind you till you face the looking-glass.
The cruel looking-glass that will never show a lass
As lovely or unlucky or as lonely as I was!”

The Queen was in her chamber, a-weeping very sore.
There came Lord Leicester’s spirit and It scratched upon the door,
Singing “Backwards and forwards and sideways may you pass,
But I will walk beside you till you face the looking-glass.
The cruel looking-glass that will never show a lass,
As hard and unforgiving or as wicked as you was!”

The Queen was in her chamber, her sins were on her head.
She looked the spirits up and down and statelily she said: –
“Backwards and forwards and sideways though I’ve been,
Yet I am Harry’s daughter and I am England’s Queen!”
And she saw her day was over and she saw her beauty pass
In the cruel looking-glass, that can always hurt a lass
More hard than any ghost there is or any man there was!
