A mere mortal am I
In love with you, one who has god-like qualities.
Looks are not all I like, although it does add some interest
But you’re eloquence,
your being a gentle man,
your wit and love for reading
Is what captivated me the most.
How can one man be almost perfect?
Almost perfect because you lack half your heart
I can make your heart whole
And we would be perfect together.

Their profile, is filtered.
They see the world
They take a photo
They share it so everyone else can envy them
But their life is filtered.
As if they live in a rose colored world
As if they are perfect
They go the extra mile just to get a million likes
Because their world is filtered.
I want to cry, I want to hide
I want to be where I’m alone
Where no one can hurt me
The media, the TV, they tell and show you things of what beauty should be
And I am a fool enough to believe them
I am blinded
I do not see myself.
I try to fit in but I just can’t
Or maybe I never wanted to
But it hurts when you try to stand up for yourself
While their boots of shaming are keeping you to the ground.
So I wish for days of alone time
With no one to tell me I’m not worth it
I try and heal the scars before they start creating new one’s again.
They say she’s the whole package
Perfect is what they call her
But she is not
And she never wants to
She only wants to be
And I don’t want to be
Nothing and no one is ever perfect, you see
Not him, not her, not you, not me
If you ever think I am
Then you’re scaring me away
Because I can’t give you that, not tomorrow, not today
Not like this or in any way
Sorry to burst your bubble,
Sorry I’m being truthful,
Sorry for your trouble,
But I am not that wonderful
Don’t ever think me perfect
Don’t expect me to be that terrific
I am just this simple girl
No more, no less
It’s alright, people fall
….to learn, to grow, to know
and to be humble
You can’t be perfect, no one is
So don’t wish to be….
….don’t aim to be
Always look at what you have
Not what you’re without
You’ll find you’re far richer
Than any king or sultan in the world
A wound and a scraped knee is needed
You’ll have to fall off the bike
to know how to ride it
wake them little stars up
open the windows towards the sun
face the palm trees and the meadows green
stretch towards the heavens high
the moon is prancing, dancing in the sky
the breeze softly comes by
clouds gather and race towards the horizon
slowly the temperature drops
as the cool wind arrives
