When I finally let you go
I found peace of mind.
I found a peace within me where once there were numerous questions.
My tears have found peace
And most tears I cry now are for joy.
Where I used to have a knot for fear of not being with you,
I am now able to breathe easily.
I found peace the moment I let you go.
When I realised you were the chaos
I was able to appreciate the silence.
I am now at peace with myself
And you are now just a lesson on an old page in my book.
He was speaking to her
She knew it in her heart
But he only lived on the pages
Reality tore her apart
He’s in books
On pages and my thoughts
He’s smart and annoying
Arrogant yet humble
Human enough and yet, still a dream
Where for art thou?
This chapter is almost through
Only a couple more pages left to fill
Another year and something new
And maybe some more coffee spills.
Add more colors to end the chapter right
Smile from the heart, to brighten up the night.
And as one chapter ends,
it curves, it glides, ever so gently
sweeping an array of beauty
leaving behind a sketch that comes alive
as the artist’s hands stroke its brilliance
slowly it makes its way
through the pages of white
until an image shows; beauty on paper
a straight line, a curve, a curl
a swirl, up and down the empty page is filled
the gentle hand, so light
works its magic
the page is filled and the work is done
only a master could do wonders
with a broken pencil in hand
