Old and worn

Feeling tired

It has witnessed many writings

Many changes

Many stories

It is old

And it holds so many memories

Getting

Getting older,

Getting younger,

Getting fatter,

Getting slimmer,

Each year is different but one thing remains constant

And that is the fact that another year has been added to this life of mine.
I raise my glass to what has been given to me

May the years of getting older be years of getting wiser

I Am Older

No grey hair showing yet but I feel it starting now

I have been blessed with the years I have thus far

And greatful for what has become

Looking forward to growing older

Cheers to the years!

Old Maid

Is it too bad?

Is it too sad?

To be single until you’re old?
Is it really a lonely life,

If you’re not someone’s wife?

Do you think it so?

New Year, New Love

They all wish and want someone new

They don’t see, I want no one but you!

They say a spark will come along from someone else

But I hear no other bells,

None but just for you.

The year may be new but my love, is all the same

New Day

The morning is warm

Fills my insides with sunlight

I face the day

Like I haven’t faced it before

Birthday Candles

I turn around and see
I am twenty-eight today
I am twenty-eight today
Hooray for me!

It’s grand
It’s joyous
It’s heart warming
It tickles my soul

See, we only get to be one age at a time
Only for a year
So might as well celebrate it
Enjoy it while it lasts

And so I turn around and see
And realize how blessed I am to be
Twenty-eight, today

Time And Age

Bones creaking and limbs aching
Older and older one gets
Either curse the number
Or be thankful for it
One can never stop it from happening

I’m Getting Old

I don’t like overcrowded places
And partying ’til dawn.
I don’t care to meet too many faces,
Sometimes it’s such a bore and I just want to yawn.

I spend more days at home
And work on my blog
I still socialize though not like the much younger years
Maybe it’s just me
Or maybe I’m just getting old

Will you be there to stand by me, will you stay?
When I become annoying and noisy,
Will you understand even when I can be a bit bossy?
When my hands have seen better days,
Will you still hold them anyway?
If my memory fades and I often forget,
Will you tell me our story so I may remember it?
When all else fails, when everything breaks,
Will you show our love is true and not one to fake?

GOD'S POETIC CHILD!!!

Dear Reader, I am here to give you a little taste of poetry with some water on the side. When you come on my blog that's all that you will taste is Poetry. Not the type of poetry where it doesn't have a meaning. The type of poetry where you will be inspired, uplifted and you will have a different mindset once you leave this site. You might even come to get a taste of this poetry again. Don't be afraid to let your kids read this blog. My poetry is for and to help the youth. Bring them along with you. You both are scrolling down your phone or on the computer anyway. Let's have fun and get a taste of some poetry. I promise this type of poetry tastes delicious. Grab a plate and a fork and I'll feed you. ENJOY!!!!
