Hey Mom

I fixed my coffee, work was due again

Then I heard familiar steps coming down the stairs.

Dressed in her night gown,

She limped slowly down the stairs since her feet hurts again.

She smiles sleepily upon seeing me

I greet her good morning as I hug her tight.

She’s older and frailer now

So different from her younger years.

I ask, “Hey mom, want some coffee?”

As we slowly start our days.

Sa imong adlawng natawhan
Gi ampo nako nga ikaw mabulahan
Nga hinaot, ikaw malipayon o inahan.
Salamat sa imong pag atiman
Ug pag amuma kanamong tanan.
Gipangga ka namo todo-todo, inahan!
Malipayong adlawng natawhan.

On your birthday

Blessings is what I pray

Hoping you are happy, oh mother dear.

Thank you for taking good care of us

And for loving us.

We love you so much, mother!

Have a happy birthday.

Her Young Years

Hair of brown now lined with silver

Years of wisdom passed on

Gave her young years to her young one’s

And so her youth has gone.

But happiness and love only grew each day

For she had them and they have her

She may be growing older each year

But through her children, she will be young forever.

Her Smile

She lights up the room as she often does

Gracefully she carries the weight of the world

Her pain she endures and spreads love all around

Her smile is like Mona Lisa’s or even better

She’s called by many names but there’s only one name I call her

And that is “Mom”

Inahan nga pinalangga
Walay sama akong paghigugma sa imo
Pagbati nga hangtod sa kahangturan
Walay makalupig

I love you, mother
My love for you cannot be measured
A love that lasts until forever
And nothing can ever compare

The Woman

She has hair a mix color of black and brown
Eyes, big, brown, and beautiful that seems to keep
An endless sunrise whenever she smiles.

She has a way with people but
Beware of her temper
When she loves, however, it is endless,
It is boundless
It is true.

She is strong, and most often
Even when she wants to give up,
She wears her Mona Lisa smile
And show the world what she’s got.

Tired (A Mother’s Woe)

Body, weak and numb
I get tired too

I may not look like it
But I ache all over too

I may appear super
But I am still human
I am an ordinary person
But will do extraordinary things for you

You think you need a break?
Try raising three kids at once
But I never complained because I did it for love

I may not look like it
But I am tired and a few beauty rests is what I need

Everything

Everything
What do you give to someone who has given you everything?
No amount, no material things…nothing
Her love is true and can never be fathomed

Cheers to the one
Who brought me to this world
Whose undying love fills me up
The one who taught me real courage
To my mom….my everything

That Woman, My Mother

She gives her all never asking for anything in return
She’s tired all day but when she sees her children, she’s reborn
She goes the extra mile
Still manages to put on a smile
She is super and fun to be with
She only knows how to give
Oh that woman! She’s beyond compare
And this to the world I have to share

Grounded

Hold your horses little man, I’m not done with you yet

There’s a lot you have to do still I bet

You’ve finished cleaning your room, well that’s swell

But there’s still that matter with your shoes

Oh that smell!

You’ve been mean to your sister

So see here mister

Your grounded for three whole months

No use trying to get your way with that pout

unbolt me
