Look Back

Let me look back and tell you of my fond memories

My memories of my childhood

When things were simple and fun despite most of it not going all too well.

Let me tell you of how the old days were

Of how there were more trees than skyscrapers

Of how fresher the air was.

I look back having remembered some of the things that happened during the war

How we hid

How we heard the bombings while huddled and hidden.

I remember my teenage years

The dances, the friends and even some of the funny stories

I remember my teachers and look back being thankful for them.

I look back hoping you’d share my excitement too

One day, you too will be looking back on your life

And I hope you remember me when you do.

It’s Not Your Fault

Will you recall the days?

Will you remember the times?

Will you remember me?

You don’t know what’s going on

I see in your eyes how lost you are

I will help you

Regain the memories

The one’s that you keep losing

The one’s you didn’t intend to lose

It’s okay

Cold

Hands, frozen
Like time, broken
Feet, numb
Like words for the dumb
Lips, blue
Somehow missing you
Memories, kept like a token
My eyes never show, left unspoken
Much like the weather is cold
Your feelings for me is a bluff, so my card I fold

Will you be there to stand by me, will you stay?
When I become annoying and noisy,
Will you understand even when I can be a bit bossy?
When my hands have seen better days,
Will you still hold them anyway?
If my memory fades and I often forget,
Will you tell me our story so I may remember it?
When all else fails, when everything breaks,
Will you show our love is true and not one to fake?

During

During the moment of inspiration,

During the times of desperation,

During the times spent alone

or spent together,

During nights of cold

and nights of negativity

During moments of gladness and moments of awesomeness

During those times present and not…..

I take pleasure of those moments during those times….

Childhood Memories

Where do I start? What would be the best part?

When I was young……ger, The days seemed to be long……ger

My day would start with a  greeting, The way my mom would say “good morning”

“Good morning pretty little rose bud!”, she would say

“Good morning pretty little mama”, to complete the day

With two older brothers to love you and tease you

Your day will never ever be blue

Play with a doll? not nearly as much

My brothers would play basketball, boy’s stuff and such

My friend’s before boys were they all, I was such a tomboy after all

The little sister to everyone, The little annoying girl since time began

Oh! I played marbles, shoot some hoops and wanted to be a boy

Being the only girl in the family, Mother did not want a tomboy

I played with toy guns and enjoy the NBA

I’m nuts for basketball and cheer for my team all the way

I climbed a tree, And scraped a knee

But that has never stopped me

I ran like crazy and pretended to be an adventurer

I dug the dirt and was a scavenger

I enjoyed my childhood, ‘Twas a happy chapter

Filled with fun and extreme laughter

Would love to do it all over again

And I’d keep everything the same
