Am I Me?

I’ve cut my hair and changed my clothes

But who have I become?

The lady I see, the lady I hoped to be

She isn’t staring back at me

She got lost amidst the chaos of the mind and heart

Lost among the treacherous trap of society

She may be lost forever

Unless I straight it right

Lost Touch

I lost my touch, haven’t I?

Words on a high

They all seem to fly

Away from me

Away from me

I’m drowning slowly, this I know

I’m not sure how far I can go

I’m not sure if words can still take me there, so

This could or might or should be the last

My Decision

I loved and lost

Better to have lost than not, as they say

And now I wander

Choosing the path not many would take

But I take it as I go

And that is that

Try

I gave love a try

It wasn’t all rainbows

I got bruises that took too long to heal

But I learned

Maybe someday I’d be brave enough to try it once more

But for now

Now is not the time just yet

At least I gave it a try

How I Lost

She smiled

And that’s all it took

She had this seemingly innocent look

And thus he was gone from me

Gone And Lost

Weak was my heart

Strong was the emotion

Tide turned the waves over

And I was lost at sea forever

Dark Day

It was dark and freezing

I was cold and sneezing

I stood alone in the rain

I felt every muscle tense with pain

I didn’t run, I didn’t walk, I just stood there

I didn’t give much care

I let it envelope me, for once I found peace

I Lost Love

Oh I gave my heart

Gave it away before

I gave it away in no time

Just about a quarter past four

And so I keep it now

Maybe someday I will give it away again

But not now

Not anytime soon

The Sea Maiden

She was lost at sea

Floating far away

She forgot what it was like, before he

Came her way
She would have drowned

And probably preferred it

Had she not heard the call of another

Who told her to start over

Of Losing You

Still haunts me to this day when I think about the time

When I was so afraid to lose you,

You were my poetry, my rhyme

But we’d just lose it all, who knew?
No one told me it was fleeting and I got caught up

Too afraid, so I didn’t move

I looked around and I stopped

I was afraid of losing you but I lost you all the same
