Find The Stars

I’m looking up on a cloudy night

It somehow symbolizes my fears, my fright

But also I know that I have to fight

If I want to see the stars come out tonight

Innocent Eyes

I looked at those innocent eyes and wondered what would become of them

The young heart that’s been through a lot already

I pray that they grow up to help better this war torn place

I pray they grow up

I cried a bucket full upon seeing the hurt and trauma

Such innocence, such purity, ruined by those who could not see

I looked at those innocent eyes and I felt my heart being torn apart

If I were to have my way
If it were as easy as one, two, three
I’d pick you at any given day
Yes, that easy, just you and me

But I have a long, long way to go
A year is still so far off
And just so you know
It’s not meant as a scoff
Or to tell you I won’t wait
Because you are worth every minute
Worth to be my future mate
My future, yes! I see you in it!

But it’s not yet time
I can’t call you mine, not yet
If you’re not the one though,
I will no longer search
I won’t look
Because if it’s time, whoever he is will find me
I just hope it is you 😁

Ang imong nawng akong gusto makita
Mga adlaw nga wala ka, haskang sakita!

Ang imong tingog gusto nakong mabati
Mo tawag kanako, mo sangpit

Hain na? Hain ka na?
Pauli na, anhi na

Your face is what I want to see
Days when you’re not hear, pains me

Your voice is what I want to hear
Calling me, longing

Where? Where are you?
Come home, here

I Waited After All

After moving on
I looked back and learned
I didn’t want to look anymore

It was to come
Or it won’t
I told myself no more for now

Without a word
And not expecting
Something from someone came along

I didn’t notice
I couldn’t
I wasn’t looking

But there it is!
And I realized, I was waiting all along

Have Yet To Be Found

Everyone else around seems to have a pair

While I’m like Cinderella’s shoe

Left behind on a solo flight

Not that I’m in a hurry

I’m taking things slow and easy

Waiting for you to arrive

And come into my life

Isn’t it a beauty? this little thing we have

What we have going on is hard to find

Breaks my heart knowing

That I am really still waiting

Until you find your way to me

Somehow I’m doing a hide and seek

Part of me hiding but wanting to be found as well

I can’t help wonder if you too are like that

Patience is the key and I’ve got time

So why worry?

If by chance I come across your way

I hope you’ll let me know

Because I can be so insensitive

And oblivious

Only time will tell

‘Cause you have yet to look for me

And I have yet to find you

About the poem: I’m a fan of Michael Buble. The man is just awesome. I love his song “Haven’t Met You Yet” and this has been my song choice these past few days. I got so inspired with the song and thought I’d write a poem more or less like it. This poem was greatly inspired by his song and I can only hope I did it justice 😉

the colors vivid, a picturesque image

she stood there her eyes sullen and sickly

her hair she tried to keep kempt

alas! to no avail

she stood there, mouth gaping and closing

as if talking but without words

watching but not seeing

what does she see through those eyes?

painted with beautiful colors

stained by the years in the uncaring world she knew

heart hardened like stone

now she stands, almost motionless

where the colors meet like a warm summer’s day

she drifts, perhaps into oblivion

perhaps into consciousness

she stands there, staring

what does she see through those eyes, I wonder?

The Looking Glass

The Queen was in her chamber, and she was middling old.
Her petticoat was satin, and her stomacher was gold.
Backwards and forwards and sideways did she pass,
Making up her mind to face the cruel looking-glass.
The cruel looking-glass that will never show a lass
As comely or as kindly or as young as what she was!

The Queen was in her chamber, a-combing of her hair.
There came Queen Mary’s spirit and It stood behind her char,
Singing “Backwards and forwards and sideways may you pass,
But I will stand behind you till you face the looking-glass.
The cruel looking-glass that will never show a lass
As lovely or unlucky or as lonely as I was!”

The Queen was in her chamber, a-weeping very sore.
There came Lord Leicester’s spirit and It scratched upon the door,
Singing “Backwards and forwards and sideways may you pass,
But I will walk beside you till you face the looking-glass.
The cruel looking-glass that will never show a lass,
As hard and unforgiving or as wicked as you was!”

The Queen was in her chamber, her sins were on her head.
She looked the spirits up and down and statelily she said: –
“Backwards and forwards and sideways though I’ve been,
Yet I am Harry’s daughter and I am England’s Queen!”
And she saw her day was over and she saw her beauty pass
In the cruel looking-glass, that can always hurt a lass
More hard than any ghost there is or any man there was!

– Rudyard Kipling

Looking Forward to Yesterday

when I close my eyes I see your face, it haunts me to this day

why can’t I seem to let you go?

why should I live in dismay?

I didn’t want to see you go but it seems

you didn’t want to stay

you turned your back as you said goodbye

what more could I say?

you’ve let me go when I still love you so

it’s so unbalanced; so painful

and you saying we can still be friends is not being helpful

my lips are cracked and they bleed and I’m hurt

while you are somewhere far away,

and all that’s left of you is a torn up shirt

through gritted teeth and freezing rain

I face this horrible pain

in time I know you’ll be nothing more but

part of my history

tomorrow may still be a mystery….to me

yet I can’t wait to look forward

to yesterday
