Dear Santa

It’s a little early, I know

But letters do travel a little slow

And I wanted to make sure you received this on time

So I’m also trying to make this interesting by doing a rhyme.

I appreciate you giving gifts to kids all over the world

And doing it all in one night is quite bold

But for this year, could you please include

Not just the young but also the old.

Not toys, necessarily

As they only bring joy momentarily.

If you could please hug those whose hearts have been broken

Those who thought no opportunity for them would be open.

Hug the one’s who lost someone

To help remove the frown

And save the milk and the cookie

To those who are in poverty.

Spread your ‘Ho, Ho, Ho’ and merriment

To those who has lost hope, be their testament.

Thank you, Santa for helping out

I know you’re going to do great, without a doubt.

Love Letter

I found a letter addressed to me

I read it slowly and carefully

It said,

“Hey beautiful! Remember you are beautiful…

In every single way

No matter what you feel each day.

Do not let the scale’s number or the clothing size define you.

You are wonderful and beautiful despite what some other people might say…

Despite what you might say to yourself.

You’re not perfect but you are unique so stop trying to fit in.

Be you

Be bold yet simple

Be delicate but strong

Be your awesome you!

There will be people who will put you down.

Society will try to change you to fit the norm.

But remember, you are loved and should learn to love yourself.

Most of all, remember that I love you.”

The letter ended and it was signed by me.

Drawing With Words

I write for I know not how to draw

I describe for I was unable to take a snapshot of what I saw.

My fingers do the dance at every line

Since I have two left feet, though they work just fine.

The things I imagine, I share with words

Thousands upon millions come in hoards.

I do this for this is what I do

To draw an image, without really doing so

Postage Stamp

I do not have you here with me, all that’s left are your thoughts and memory

A piece of stationary with your handwriting

The paper still smells good

The envelope is a bit crumpled but still in tact

It still has the postage stamp from nowhere

A place far away, a place I would never be able to go to

I hold the letter in my hands and read your message over and over again

I cry still, although it’s been so long

The last bit of what’s left of you are in my hands, I can’t imagine it still

I miss you so and all I have left is a postage stamp as

proof of your existence

The other letter is kept in the box, the one I hate the most

The one that tore my life apart, the one that told me of your fate

Still, I reminisce the times we had, no matter how short it was

May you send the letter that I await

With the postage stamp from a place where you and I

can be together once again

The Savior Speaks

Did you pause today

In the midst of your day

And remembered that I always

have time for you?

Busy schedules to keep,

Demands and expectations,

Pressures within and without,

Thoughts and dreams

no one else knows about –

I see them all

And how you perform doesn’t change

One bit what I think of you.

I love you as my Father loves me – perfectly.

And I invite you to come

often during the day,

To rest and hide in me,

Draw fresh courage,

Reach down in honesty

And bare your doubts and questions.

Tell me of your joys and discoveries,

Or simply lie quiet before me.

Let’s enjoy each other’s presence,

Come often.

I wait for you.

Jesus Christ
