Where Do You Bury The Dead?

A night blanketed by mist

Not like other nights that have past

Tonight is colder and quieter.

.

A hooded figure roams the empty streets

Door to door collecting what others have thrown away

Old relationships

Heartaches and heart breaks

Emotions

Lies

Tears

Even happiness that others neglected

Memories they prefer not to look back to.

.

The unwanted feelings

Things that have been erased

The hooded figure takes them all

Bury them not in cemeteries

But someplace else.

Red

Red were my eyes because I chose to leave

I left because you needed me but didn’t want me.

Red was the sky, crying just like I

I left because I had to.

I needed to be me

To be free

From the faults and false of you.

Red was my heart, bleeding,

Almost dying

Goodbye Roses

They bloomed bright and well

But they can’t last, I could tell

They were beautiful, and are still

They brought me joy once before, my happy pill

But now I see they’ve wilted

I look at them with my head tilted

Since you’ve left, the sun did too

And I say goodbye to the roses that came from you

Along Came No One

He sat there and nobody noticed

Except I who was already there, no one looking at us

The silence was loud yet he nor I flinched

Time was creeping slowly, inch by inch

He could have left, avoiding the awkwardness

But he remained there, we both did and so did silence

No one came and I think we both preferred it that way
