When I finally let you go
I found peace of mind.
I found a peace within me where once there were numerous questions.
My tears have found peace
And most tears I cry now are for joy.
Where I used to have a knot for fear of not being with you,
I am now able to breathe easily.
I found peace the moment I let you go.
When I realised you were the chaos
I was able to appreciate the silence.
I am now at peace with myself
And you are now just a lesson on an old page in my book.
And then sometimes I want to write about sadness
Sometimes it’s a song about love
And then at times about heartbreak
Sometimes it’s about life and acknowledging the existence of death
Then sometimes I write about nothing
About no one
About the world and the beauty it has despite the darkness it also holds
With all the sometimes, often I write with the aim not to please others
But just to bring joy
A humming bird came knocking
Asking if it can bring anything for me
I whispered to it and said
Bring me love
Bring me joy
Bring me smile
Bring me back my heart
The one stolen by you.
Dark and gloomy
The world is, already
Share a laugh, a smile
It can go as far as a mile
To someone who is broken
Days or weeks, haven’t spoken
A simple gesture of sharing joy
Is sometimes all it takes
I am joyful and happy
I am over the sun amd the moon
I am happy for you
Truly I am
Grand like the piano
Lovely and soulful
Hitting those notes like a soprano.
I listen in
He makes me feel warm and fuzzy
His songs make me smile
And gives me joy
End of the week it is
Weekend is waiting and I can get cozy in bed
Momentous event to have finished the week
Yet, a bit of regret
Two days of rest means
Two days not seeing you
Weekends mean my week ends with you
But absence is supposed to make the heart go fonder
I hope it does to you
So that even when Monday makes you blue
May I be the reason for you to be joyous still
Not since I’ve met you.
I’ve never heard birds sing so sweetly,
Not since you’ve come to meet me.
Lord I thank you for saving
A sinner like me
I sang a song for this joyous feast
Hoping to let everyone hear it, from west all the way to the east.
I sang of happiness and of thankfulness
And hoped for what will come will be of greatness.
And as the holidays go on,
I would gladly continue singing my song.
