The Night Is Old

They say the night is always young, wild and free

No one ever says the night is getting old

No one ever says it’s dying

Night owls party the night away

Regular people just enjoy the silence

I……

I on the other hand

Observe, take it all in and enjoy

I lost my brain today and I mean literally

It’s not “in there” where it’s supposed to be.

I should just say that it is out

But I can’t think straight for a brain I am without.

I don’t know why or how or even when

All I know was IT was there back then.

Somehow it walked out from me

Now I’m wondering where it could be.

If you perchance to meet it along your way

Kindly tell it to go home and tell it to stay.

I’m not feeling well, I am out of my wits! Dare I say

Since my brain is not in today

What’s Next?

The dishes are done, the windows are clean

my hair is all undone

The floor is sparkling and the chairs arranged neatly

So, what’s next?

The bathroom smells good, clean, in fact cozy

The sink is glittering like gold

and I’m soaked with sweat

The bed’s been made and tables been set

What will I do next?

The laundry is done and clothes been ironed

The shelves have been dusted

and I look like I’ve been mugged

The leaves outside have been swept

The trash has been thrown out

Still, I can’t remember, what I was supposed to do next

Everything’s clean

Everything’s neat, dusted and sparkling

Yet I smell something awful

Then realized the next thing I was supposed to do……….

Was to take a shower

Coffee as it is…

coffee as it is, is like immortality

vagueness of the bitterness and after taste

that caught thy tongue

in a loop of addiction

ever so often you want to stop

but find yourself starting again

it’s aroma and darkness of texture

invites your senses to a playful symphony

a kaleidoscopic attraction

that tingles and makes your mouth water

scorches the heart into a halt

yet you come back for more

…He Who Is…

He’s the one that makes my day……

……Yet, he’s also the one that ruins it……

He knows when to make me smile……

                    ……And keeps quite when I make a fit……

He used to tease me and make me cry……

……Not a day goes by without it, it’s his routine……

Like clockwork, like sunrise or sunset……

……It completes his day, it would seem……

He taught me how to be strong……

……To not cry or be bullied, to fight back……

To never back down on a fight……

……So long as it’s right, and courage I should not lack……

He influenced me through music……

                    ……To alternatives and classics……

He taught me to play the guitar……

……And fall in love with acoustics……

He’s the shoulder I can lean upon……

                    ……My bridge over troubled water……

He’s the man, second in command……

……To my dad, he’s no other than my brother.

I dedicate this to my two older brothers whose respect I have is great. – MARIA MICHAELA
