Dry spell happened even before summer truly began
It’s been hot and humid, to the heat I’m not a fan.
And now on recent days it’s been rainy and gloomy
It’s like a weird summer abnormality.
But to the cooler weather, I am not complaining
I wouldn’t complain even if it were raining.
I welcome this cooler summer while it lasts
As it won’t stay like this for long, according to the forecasts.
The ray of sun pierces through the window
The light’s reflection playfully bounces
Outside, the heat of the sun is scorching
Summer is creeping in
You will find me where the sun rises early
Where the waves whisper softly
Where the breeze is blowing
Where the sea is calling
Alarm goes off and I say, here we go again
It can take a toll on you
Yet you push hard or harder
Knowing that the game
Cereals, oats, or rice
As long as coffee is there, it would be nice
The cold dawn gives away to the rising sun
Shivers will soon be gone
To get you through it for a while,
Always start the day with a smile.
I wouldn’t have mind the humidity
I would’ve kept my flexibility
Had it been I was on vacation
Rather than trying to get some sleep in my room
I wouldn’t have mind sweating so
Had it been I was exercising or was on the go
But I am just trying to catch a good nights sleep
I flip over, bounce about just looking for the right spot
But sleepless night I got
How will I sleep soundly with this humidity?
It shines bright
It’s brighter than ever
But I’m stuck inside looking out
I can only wish that the sune keeps its brightness
Until I am able to play under it once more
How do you get rid of something
Something you do not want to get rid of
Like the sunny summer skies
And the bug to swim away
See poetry isn’t always about love and loss
It can be about nature, the environment and a greater cause.
About the planet, the greenhouse effect, pollution
About rebuilding, finding better alternatives, and solutions.
Most plants, trees, animals, are dying
What are we, in our little ways, doing?
We need to take action instead of moping and crying.
I can feel the world is sick because of what we have done
Look at the world now and what it has become.
Summer has always been hot but now it’s scorching
Let’s face it, taking a blind eye isn’t working.
This poetry may not do so much
But I hope it reaches people and they feel touched
By how wonderful Mother Nature truly is
And keeping her safe means for our own good, that’s the purpose of this.
