Hey!

Hey! How are you?

Was what he asked

I said, all fine

Hiding behind my mask
You look well, he said

And I just nodded

He stood there and smiled

My expression guarded

And he stared,

My reaction he studied
He held my arm

As I was walking away

He said he liked seeing me

And wanted me to stay

He just didn’t know that it still broke my heart

Knowing that it will never move past, “hey”

Oh hello world!

Hello world, how are you?

I’ve been keeping you from a distance

Been looking from the outside

Many beautiful things you offer

But some of my kind doesn’t bother.
They fight, they bicker

Back stab one another

It is no wonder

Why you cry floods of water

You try to cleanse yourself of us

Seeing we’re the impurities.
Hello world. Is it too late for me to say how lovely you are?

How precious you are

How grateful should all of us be.

Hello world…..

Good Morning Moon

How do you say good morning to the moon?
He manages to slowly fade each time I do
As much as he’d like to stay
He’s being called away
And I never get the chance to say,
“Hey! Good morning!”

He’d like to see the blue skies and the busy streets
He’d like to be the one to wake them and greet them all a good day
But alas! It’s not meant to be

I long for the day to come
When the moon can stay all day up at the sky
So I can tell him
What a good morning it truly is

Greeted by the Stars

I came out today for a very early walk and I looked up to the sky

I see the stars up above, twinkling so beautifully

This morning is quite lovely as there are no clouds

to hinder me from seeing the wonderful stars

I count the stars and see one, two, three

all of them looking down at me

I walk a little further with my big Labrador

Pause again for a moment and look up to the sky once more

I look a little closer and then I see

more stars are coming out to greet me

I stand there looking up still amazed by their beauty

and it seems my dog too is in awe

The silence of dawn is serene

I take a deep deep breath and feel the air

I found a spot, where I can sit

and gaze at the stars once more

They all seem so far away yet their greeting reaches me

I feel warm inside despite the cold breeze

So lovely are the stars, wonderful creation of God

and lovely as can be

More and more seem to be coming out now

To bid the world and me, a truly amazing day
