Days of Childhood

I remember….

When days were longer and the sun wasn’t as hot

Looking forward to summer and playing all day long

Danced and played in the rain

Running around, sweaty but with a huge smile on my face

Climb trees, scraped my knees

Flew a kite, learned how to ride a bike

Roller blading and falling and getting back up to try again

Yes, I remember those wonderful days

Oh I hear the music in my head

I hear rhythm

I feel light

I tap my feet

I snap my fingers

I hum the song

And before I knew it, I was already singing out loud

Kissed By The Sun

Oh it’s summer once again

The excitement awaits

Not everyone goes to the beach

Like me, I choose to climb

Rule the mountain!

Trek the adventure

Choose the path less traveled

Under the heat of the majestic sun

Be kissed by its beauty

Marvel at the world

Reach for it with your fingertips

What’s A Kid To Do?

Summer fun

Summer bum

What’s a kid to do?

Run around in circles

Going up and down the stairs

Fly a kite

Marvel at the stars

And stay up late

Watch a movie

Listen to music

Draw a picture

Start a hobby like playing the piano

Play tag

And chat with friends all day

There’s really not much to do during the summer

Oh my! What’s a kid to do?

The Night Is Old

They say the night is always young, wild and free

No one ever says the night is getting old

No one ever says it’s dying

Night owls party the night away

Regular people just enjoy the silence

I on the other hand

Observe, take it all in and enjoy

And So I Danced

Pressuring myself in losing weight

Seems though I’m more likely to lose my mind first

All this exercising and dieting has taken its toll

I could never quench this thirst

Of losing weight but not losing my sanity

I heard the song on the radio

Immediately, I feel in love and started tapping my feet

Before I knew it I was on air

It was more than I could bear

I flung my arms and danced

I realized I missed dancing

So I let the music take me wherever

I found my groove that was lost all these years

I let go of all the losing weight fears

I finally had fun and enjoyed

Be Glad Your Nose Is In Your Face

Be glad your nose is on your face,
not pasted on some other place,
for if it were where it is not,
you might dislike your nose a lot.

Imagine if your precious nose
were sandwiched in between your toes,
that clearly would not be a treat,
for you’d be forced to smell your feet.

Your nose would be a source of dread
were it attached atop your head,
it soon would drive you to despair,
forever tickled by your hair.

Within your ear, your nose would be
an absolute catastrophe,
for when you were obliged to sneeze,
your brain would rattle from the breeze.

Your nose, instead, through thick and thin,
remains between your eyes and chin,
not pasted on some other place–
be glad your nose is on your face!
