One chapter has ended

Another has begun

I apologise for myself I offended

And for leaving myself, like hit and run

Lessons should and have been learned

Self respect is something I have earned

Moving With Life

I loved the rainbows, I loved the rain

I loved the happiness, I loved the pain

The sun shines bright

And sometimes it gets darker than the night

But through it all I carry on

Foward, onward, moving on.

I’m putting my foot down

Have to make a decision

It has to be final

It has to be done

The waiting is over

And it has been made clear

End the torment

Kill the expectations

Move on

At Gun-Point

Heaven knows I took some pain

Took the shot, faced the gun of challenge point-blank

Aimed at me, I stared in fear

Nervous, cold sweat running

My feet wanted to run

Frozen, stuck where I was

But I stared down

Stood my ground

The bullet hit me straight and I got down

Got back up and brushed it off

Never was it easy, never it will be

But I will never back down

And I will move forward

All the time

Sink In

So you haven’t thought much of it

You haven’t really realized it

I know you’re trying not to think about what’s going to happen

I know that in your mind, you’re collecting memories

You’re trying to spend more time

You need not worry though

Because I’ll find ways to be able to spend time with you

Once it sinks in,

Don’t let the feeling overwhelm you

Just know that you have me…..always

Life, Oh Llife!

Breathe in and inhale deeply

Savor each moment

Learn from mistakes

Love unconditionally

Take in everything

Never regret decisions, whether it may not have been the best

Move forward

I Bet

I bet you didn’t think I’d make it

I bet you thought I was going to stay down…down…down

Not anymore and never again

I’m stronger than you think I am

More powerful than imagined

More determined than ever

No backing out

I’ll face the storm

Because I bet at the back of your mind

You thought I was going to quit

Leave behind the worries

Take with you the lessons

Move forward and move on

But look back and know that whatever challenge comes,

you’ll be able to over come it

Fast Forward Fast Lane

I get lost in the fast lane

Caught up in a load of pain

Missed the bus and the train

Everything’s too fast, I’m going insane

Who am I too complain?

But I can’t take it ; it’s far too much for my brain

Everything is way too fast

No time to mingle , no time to relax…it’s not a blast

It’s hard even to look back at the past

People pushing you to look forward as if something’s wrong if you’re last

“Can’t we just slow down a bit?”, that’s what I asked

I want to live my life and enjoy it

I’m going to have fun with every single bit

I won’t care if I’m different and they’ll say I don’t fit

I’m going to get out of here, time to split!

Life in the fast lane is too fast,

time to rest and sit

and just take it nice, slow and easy

Looking Forward to Yesterday

when I close my eyes I see your face, it haunts me to this day

why can’t I seem to let you go?

why should I live in dismay?

I didn’t want to see you go but it seems

you didn’t want to stay

you turned your back as you said goodbye

what more could I say?

you’ve let me go when I still love you so

it’s so unbalanced; so painful

and you saying we can still be friends is not being helpful

my lips are cracked and they bleed and I’m hurt

while you are somewhere far away,

and all that’s left of you is a torn up shirt

through gritted teeth and freezing rain

I face this horrible pain

in time I know you’ll be nothing more but

part of my history

tomorrow may still be a mystery….to me

yet I can’t wait to look forward

to yesterday
