I dragged my feet as I walked out the bedroom
Eyes, sleepy and sagging…still wanting more sleep
I managed to take a shower, getting ready to work from home
Still I was feeling sleepy
Oh woe is me!
Finally after an hour or two, I decided I badly need one
So, a cup of coffee I drank and my day finally began
I took a cup of sunset and sipped it like coffee
Taking in the days labor and now feeling sleepy.
A pillow to keep company and to rest my tired head
Off to dreamland I go as I lay still in bed.
Why so bitter?
Why so dark?
So they splash a little milk or creamer to add a bit of colour
But that just ruins it, doesn’t it?
The aroma, the realness, the pureness
That’s what it’s all about.
So no, I say no to the sweetness of sugar
And no the any creaminess
I like it dark and bitter.
Ever since trying intermittent fasting, I’ve been into dark coffee. Been used to creamer and sugar that it took quite a while for me to get used to the pure bitterness of it. Now, I can’t get enough of it and prefer coffee as it is. How do you like your coffee? Or are you more a tea person?
My coffee has gone cold waiting for me.
In this cold morning, my coffee is colder still.
Much like your cold heart
Who left me lying on the cold floor
With my heart held in my cold hands.
And yet, I still drink my bitter cold coffee
As I toast the cold morning air
Remembering that from your coldness
I learned to embrace the warmth of my own sunshine.
Like a stamp
It sticks and stays
It lingers in my coffee cup.
My femininity, embeded
A mark of my presence
Shades of pink, purple, burgundy, black, nude, and red
Shows my mood.
Each mark left behind,
Is a mark of excellence
Alarm goes off and I say, here we go again
It can take a toll on you
Yet you push hard or harder
Knowing that the game
We were always opposite
I liked a mug of coffee
He preferred tea
He fell in love with sunsets
While I’ve aways preferred when it rises
He had charm and talked a lot
I kept quite and observed
He was unsure of me
I was certain of him
And that was the biggest opposite we had
Cereals, oats, or rice
As long as coffee is there, it would be nice
The cold dawn gives away to the rising sun
Shivers will soon be gone
To get you through it for a while,
Always start the day with a smile.
Start the day
Trying to get back the energy I once had
When I was younger
When metabolism was faster
When coffee was bitter
And cereals were sweeter
Now I look at the table
Wondering of getting back in shape
Or should I just eat this cereal
Drink my coffee and go
Roasty and strong
Sometimes lighter, for sure you can’t go wrong
Inhale the aroma
The sweet taste of morning
Fills you with such joy so warming
A cup or mug on hand to start the day
That’s how mornings are done, my way
