Brother (Younger and Annoying)

He annoys me,
Tests my patience
Yet I know he adores me.

He can be such an attention seeker
And very rarely is he quite
Yet everyday my heart melts for him, stronger and weaker
All at he same time

Nonetheless, I love him truly
One of the greatest gifts I have, surely
A love and a bond that is for a lifetime
My friend, my brother

A Decent Man

It hurts to know
That the ones who you thought are going to love you true
Could hurt you so deeply

Sleepless nights
Recalling not seeing the signs
The men who you thought are the only exceptions
Become mortal before your very eyes

It hurts knowing that they are after all the same as the rest
The heroes, the knights that you once thought they were
Mere facade

A father and now a brother
I am losing hope
And I wonder if those became lesser
Are there any decent men left of this Earth?

Grounded

Hold your horses little man, I’m not done with you yet

There’s a lot you have to do still I bet

You’ve finished cleaning your room, well that’s swell

But there’s still that matter with your shoes

Oh that smell!

You’ve been mean to your sister

So see here mister

Your grounded for three whole months

No use trying to get your way with that pout

…He Who Is…

He’s the one that makes my day……

……Yet, he’s also the one that ruins it……

He knows when to make me smile……

                    ……And keeps quite when I make a fit……

He used to tease me and make me cry……

……Not a day goes by without it, it’s his routine……

Like clockwork, like sunrise or sunset……

……It completes his day, it would seem……

He taught me how to be strong……

……To not cry or be bullied, to fight back……

To never back down on a fight……

……So long as it’s right, and courage I should not lack……

He influenced me through music……

                    ……To alternatives and classics……

He taught me to play the guitar……

……And fall in love with acoustics……

He’s the shoulder I can lean upon……

                    ……My bridge over troubled water……

He’s the man, second in command……

……To my dad, he’s no other than my brother.

I dedicate this to my two older brothers whose respect I have is great. – MARIA MICHAELA
