Tunnel

The sound of her heart beating told her she’s still alive
For a brief moment there was a glimmer of hope
Before the darkness swalled her again

Music Keeps Me Alive

From the darkness I fell

I crept out of my shell

I held on to the clouds

Was greeted by a sound so loud

Loud but melodic; it soothed my soul

It chased away the ghosts and ghouls

Filled me up with symphonies, rhythms, and sounds

I now found courage that knows no bounds

From the dust I rose and out into the light

Thank goodness for the music that gave me such delight

No Ressurrection

Friendship, when a friend meant a helping sword,
Faithfulness, when power and life were its fruits, hatred, when the hated
Held steel at your throat or had killed your children, were more than metaphors.
Life and the world were as bright as knives.

But now, if I should recall my ruins
From the grass-roots and build my body again in the heavy grave,
Twist myself naked up through the earth like a strong white worm,
Tip the great stone, gulp the white air,

And live once more after long ages
In the change of the world: I should find the old human affections hollowed.
Should I need a friend? No one will really stab me from behind,
The people in the land of the living walk weaponless.

Should I hate an enemy? The evil-doers
Are pitiable now. Or to whom be faithful? Of whom seek faith?
Who has eaten of the victor’s feast and shared the fugitive silence
Of beaten men on the mountain: suffer

Resurrection to join this midge-dance
Of gutted and multiplied echoes of life in the latter sun?
Dead man, be quiet. A fool of a merchant, who’d sell good earth
And grass again to make modern flesh.

In Between, In Limbo

I sense the grass, a soft musk of tree bark , the scornful dirt of mud

I’m wide awake yet half asleep, in limbo so it would seem

I hear crickets and bullfrogs in unison like a choir singing in the distance

Some voices seem to call me, yet I know not from where

I see nothing, no light whatsoever

My feet touches the ground; soft, grassy and I smell the ocean

I hear the rain coming, its earthly odor coming with it

I hear the droplets and feel the ripples

Still somewhere in the distance, I hear someone call

I walk, no perhaps I float, into the depths

to somewhere I have no idea where

I see!

I see people for a moment and then they’re gone

Everything is a blur, the sounds muffled ; unable to hear clearly

I sense calmness, peace, relaxation

No fear or anger, no negativity

At peace, I am

at peace

Something pulls me back, pulls me in

I hear the rumbling thunder as if searching for me

For some strange reason, I feel the need to look back, to stop

The air is cool, my skin seems tight

Then……

I see a face, unfamiliar

The man then sighs and yells,

“It’s a miracle!”

unbolt me
