His words were sweet like honey as he lied through his teeth

But I knew he held a knife behind his back, kept it with a sheath

The air is thick that I can taste the bitterness in my mouth

Let’s talk no more, we both know this is going south

I can feel it, sense that you’ve gone sour

And I believe we’re counting down our last hour

Color Me

I wanted to see them

Life was getting dull and I was getting tired…all the time

I’d wish I was away to somewhere tranquil

Rather than stuck in this cubicle

If I saw colors, it would light me up

It would let me see the real beauty

To be more positive and be happier

I need them now, more than ever

Brick Wall

I hit a dead end,

It seems

I stood there for a moment

Surveyed my surroundings

The brick wall stood massively in front of me

Many would have turned back

Others would have climbed it

Some may have tried to take it down

Others may have built a door

But I

I simply walked around it

Like how people these days just get something new instead of fixing it

His love for me was such.

He replaced my love like it was some cheap cellular phone

Discarded it

Put it aside…

My love became ordinary

So he disposed it

Just like that

I Died Everyday

I feared the night and screamed at the daybreak

I knew no happiness

And was never contented

I drained myself of love and emotions

I was chaotic

Close to insanity

The world was crowded

The good was never rewarded!

I did all that but never really lived

In truth, I was pronounced dead everyday

Not Him

The moon was bright

Not a cloud in sight

I walked slowly, trying to drown the tears.

For once I was sad that the tears weren’t for him

He made me write poems when I was brokenhearted

He made me rhyme when I was excited

I thought that I was a no one who found someone

Turns out he was my lesson, that love is not for everyone.

I learned and moved on, finally able to let go of the hurt

My reply to the heartbreak was at first curt

But when the dust settled

I matured and won the battle.

He made me write poems…

Sleeplessly Awake

At night I lie awake

By day I’m half asleep

No dream visits at night

So I daydream all day

I close my eyes and cuddle the pillows and blanket

But I’m not truly asleep
