A familiar smell hangs in the air
It transports me back in time
A perfume that tickles the senses
Unlocking memories that have been thought lost

For the visually challenged reader, this image shows a sculpture of a man holding a bag. The statue is on waterside, and part of the statue is intentionally missing.
Through this journey that we call life
I've seen many things and been through many highs and lows
Over time, I've given pieces of me freely
But some take more, jealously
There have been those who give more than what is asked of them
They are a rare breed, unfortunately
And as I continue to go through life,
I will meet many more
Although I wish, there will be more who give than take

Don’t pick the flower because of it’s beauty
Don’t let it grace your home and slowly wilt away
Appreciate it instead and cultivate it
Let it grow and care for it
Let it live its days
Share its beauty with the bees and the butterflies
For its beauty is meant to be shared

I wake up early to see the slow rising of the sun
Its glow is ever beautiful and ever changing each time
The skies gladly wait to be painted by its light
And this is something that will always be magical to me

This week, the Weekend Challenge from GC and Sue is the word GLOW.
Featured image is from Pinterest.
Is she the autumn breeze that you’ve been longing for?
Is she the much awaited perfect score?
Perhaps my summer heart was not enough
Perhaps you found it dry and rough
Whatever the case may be
I’ll go and set myself free

I remember you and how so many had a crush on you
Your boyish grin would leave any heart blue
Many were attracted with your looks
I liked you for your love of books
One look from you, my cheeks turn red, it blushes
Yes! Those were the days of teenage crushes

A place of comfort
And where I can just be me
Kick my feet up and relax
Let the day’s stress melt away
At times, it’s also a person who makes me feel comfortable
One that I can let my hair down
It’s also a feeling
One that brings warmth
This to me, is home

This week’s Wednesday challenge on Susan and GC’s site is the word HOME. Check Weekly Prompts Wednesday Challenge – Home.
Sometimes I feel an emptiness that I can’t explain
There is a certain ache within, a certain pain
It comes as quickly as it goes away

This is a digital art image. It shows a man standing in front of a square portal that shows a scene from another place. Stairs lead up to this portal.
In search for the one he lost so many years ago
He looks into portals of different worlds
In the hopes of finding the love he lost

A story is told about the bamboo
How pliant it is
How it stays rooted despite strong winds or storms
It sways and bends but never breaks
We too can do the same when life gets stormy
Bend and sway as strong winds come
Stay rooted, like the bamboo
