Like Ice

Walking down the street on a cold night with you

My hands were cold and I thought yours must be too.

So I took your hand and held it tightly

But I realised almost immediately.

It was not your hands that were cold

It was your heart that was like ice, which I knew I could never hold.

Insecurity

You get to fit clothes easily,

You get to be called pretty.

You get to be fine and dandy,

You get to be dolled up, lovely.

You get to be all fine and sexy,

While I’m just plain, fat, and flimsy.

I do not want to fill my thoughts with envy.

I don’t want to hate or be angry.

I guess there’s no one else to blame but me

But I hope you stop making me feel so ugly.

We are all insecure in some ways. It’s bad enough that we think ourselves low, let’s not make others feel this way. Spread LOVE. ❤️

Snow Moon

Gazing up in the sky, I saw a bright light.

It was beauty I cannot deny, it was such a wonderful sight.

Then the moon hid behind the clouds

As if playing hide and seek.

Misty clouds acting like shrouds

Making the moon look sexy and chic.

It was a sight to behold, it was a sight to see

A story that needed to be told, about the moon and its beauty.

Last Slice

I wake up at midnight while everyone is fast asleep

I make my way downstairs, ever slowly I creep

I go to the kitchen with just the fridge light on

Devouring the last slice of pizza, nom nom nom….all gone

I was originally going to write “last slice of cake” but thought pizza sounded better. I didn’t eat pizza today but I sure love it 🍕😁.

To Thee

Edgar wrote of Annabel Lee

Who lived in the kingdom by the sea.

I’d also like to write poetry

About my love to thee.

But feelings are hard to put into words.

How can I make it sweet like the chirping of the birds?

What sort of rhyme must I write

To let your emotions ignite?

Still, ideas escape me

Unlike Edgar who wrote about Annabel Lee.

My paper is still empty

And I still contemplate of that poetry

One that I’ll dedicate to thee.
