Keep A Secret

I shared a secret to the clouds

It poured rain for it could not hold it for long

That’s how the wind knew.

It fell silent for a second then blew it away

all the trees swayed to catch it

And I thought they’d keep it hidden

Turns out, they told the birds.

The birds could not help but chirp about it

so the worms, the butterflies, and bees knew of it too!

Too many now knew so it no longer was a secret

I decided to zip my mouth and not share another to any.

Then came the shooting star

It came and it whooshed away

It kept the secret that I told it

and now it is forever my friend
