Immortal

time walks by and passes through

alone in the world am I

heavy rains pouring in

and age slips through my fingers

I count the days and the moments gone by

wish I could turn back time

take away this curse from me

I want to live and die

instead,

I walk, travel — forever in misery

as people pass

yet like the old oak tree, I remain

motionless it seems

frozen

I’ve seen it all and want nothing more

than to rest in the fine sand

where they bury the flowers

and remember the years

but instead I am forever locked in this

nothingness of a so-called life

death has never visited me

nor will it ever come

because for every breath of a dying person

I live again and again
