Lost Love

as if by magic she floated to the sky

she spread her arms like a bird so willing to fly

free to go to any place, any time

across oceans and mountains few men ever climb

his heart lies in the sea so vast

he yearns the long forgotten past

of the love he had, which now was lost

of the hurt and how bitter, too much it cost

she feels the freedom like never before

the feeling she can’t explain and she wants more

she sees the light just beyond

she dives into what seemed a light of pond

whereas he is left alone and cold

to drown in sorrow and grow old

goodbye, farewell forever to the love

until he and she meets again up above
